Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.

American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic television series like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a statement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
