Trump Calls Loved Ones of Injured Military Personnel to White House
President Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.
He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in the nation's capital.
Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

White House Offer
The president said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president informed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”
Public Response
Attendees assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.
Both they had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s federal initiative to aid public safety in Washington DC.
Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the kind of student that instructors wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of her previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”
Funeral plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.
Legal Actions and Policy Revisions
Authorities have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
The incident prompted the government to halt asylum applications and halt issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.
Condition of Andrew Wolfe
Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.
He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor the governor said on television.
Attorney general Bondi told a news show that she aimed to visit his relatives.
Memory of the Fallen Soldier
Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, per the military.
“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had bravery,” the governor addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
